Josh Zimmer is in his second season as the Defensive Line Coach for the Jimmies Football program. Before joining the Jimmies, Zimmer spent three seasons as the Defensive Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Presentation College. Under his leadership, the Saints’ defensive line produced seven NSAA conference selections and one player who ranked in the Top 5 in the NAIA for sacks and tackles for loss. The defensive line also helped the Saints break two school records.
Prior to his tenure at Presentation College, Zimmer served as the Defensive Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Minnesota Morris for two seasons. His leadership contributed to the Cougars setting three school records and finishing in the top 5 of the UMAC in tackles for loss and sacks.
Zimmer brings extensive experience as both a coach and a former player. He was a defensive lineman for Division I Minot State University from 2009-2013, where he was a four-year letter winner and a three-year starter for the Beavers. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations.
Coach Zimmer’s recruiting areas include Northern Minnesota, Alaska, and the Pacific Northwest. He resides in Jamestown with his wife, Emily, and their son, Maverick.
