Jonathan Heck

Jonathan Heck joined the Missouri Baptist University football staff as Quarterbacks Coach in February 2023. he was elevated to Offensive Coordinator in June 2023.

Heck arrives at MBU following a stint as Tight Ends Coach at Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) powerhouse Marian University in Indianapolis, Ind. At MU, Heck was a part of the MSFA conference championship team in 2021 along with two NAIA Football Championship Series quarterfinal appearances. In two seasons with the Knights, Heck coaches two All-MSFA First Team tight ends in 2021 and 2022.

Prior to Marian, the Paddock Lake, Wis. native served as Wide Receivers Coach at Ottawa University (Kan.). During the spring COVID season, he mentored three Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) All-Conference Honorable Mention recipients.

As an undergraduate student at the University of Kansas, Heck served as a student assistant coach working with the quarterbacks group. Following graduation with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Heck stayed on staffing assisting in the quarterbacks room for two seasons.

Heck began his coaching career at North Chicago High School coaching QBs and serving as co-Offensive Coordinator and helping lead to the higest scoring offense in the North Suburban Conference. At the time, he was the youngest varsity coach in the state of Illinois. Heck also served as leader of the student athletic academic guidance program.
